The Castirian Revolution

Year: 4965u
Location: Castiria

Notes

  • The 4965u Castirian Revolution saw Castiria transition from a constitutional monarchy to a parliamentary republic.
  • The Castirian parliament, driven primarily by a liberal-capitalist alliance, were calling for a republic, whilst various factions were engaged in anti-monarchist unrest across the nation.
  • The Revolution ultimately ended in a mostly peaceful fashion. The monarchy more or less relented and ceded power.
  • The revolution was easy on the aristocracy, who had some, but not all, assets seized. There was a key interest in keeping things bloodless and uncontroversial, and this meant allowing the aristocracy to transition into a new capitalist class.
